Endoscopic submucosal dissection for gastric lesions in Germany – proportion of early gastric cancer is case load dependant

Aims Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is the standard treatment for early gastric cancer. It has already been shown that the rate of R0 resections, en-bloc resections and curative resections is significantly higher in high-volume centers than in low-volume centers. We investigated whether a more precise selection in terms of a higher rate of resected early gastric carcinomas can also be observed in high-volume centers
