摘要
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disease were approximately 100.000 cases worldwide, 15% of which cannot be treated. Interdisciplinary collaboration is necessary to solve complex problems like this. To train interdisciplinary collaboration, at Utrecht University bachelor students biomedical sciences and medicine (>100 students) were challenged to brainstorm feasible research proposals for new CF treatments. From this, one proposal was selected to be executed in the undergraduate course, Experimental Translational Medicine. This is an interdisciplinary 10-week research-based course where 16 medicine and biomedical sciences bachelor students execute the best research proposal in a dedicated wet laboratory (Bachelor Research Hub) together with and facilitated by faculty staff, including researchers and medical doctors.
