Molluscs

The mollusca are a taxon of soft-bodied metazoans, typically with distinct “head” and “foot” regions and are covered dorsally by calcium carbonate spicules or a shell(s); shells may also be absent or internal. Since the 1500s, molluscs have the highest number of recorded animal extinctions. Most of the reported molluscan extinctions are from terrestrial and freshwater habitats.
