摘要
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is considered as one of the deadliest cancers with a low patient survival rate and an urgent need to develop novel drugs and treatments to cure it. Chemotherapy remains the most widespread treatment for pancreatic cancer, but the prognosis is very poor. Inadequate drug penetration, drug resistance, and lack of tumor targeting have led to design of nanomaterial-based drug delivery systems. Liposome and noisome-based formulations are used in the treatment of pancreatic cancer to enhance the therapeutic index of anticancer agents, which is attributed to the high concentrations of the drug in the tumor site. In this chapter, the recent advances in liposome and noisome platforms for the treatment of PDAC are summarized.
