摘要
The present research investigates the integrated influence of production procedures and the placement of carbon fibre pins on the shear and vibrational characteristics of flat-joggle-flat composite joints. Results exhibit that the insertion of pins in co-cured flat-joggle-flat joints with a 2 % volume fraction greatly improved the tensile and shear parameters by 35.04 % and 31.96 %, respectively, compared to co-bonding and secondary bonding. The addition of more % of pin decreased the strength properties due to more stress concentration at the pin corners. The failure analysis reveals that without reinforcement samples mostly failed in cohesive and adhesive manners. FESEM images confirmed that the pin insertion provides the bridging between the adhesive and adherends. The modal analysis reveals the co-cured connection had highest natural frequencies (985.1 Hz) than other joints, indicating improved interface bonding between the adhesive and adherends.
