Virtual Reality Based Simulation of Key Technology of Coal Mine Power Supply Teaching Experiment.

Coal mine power supply technology is the core course of electrical engineering in mining colleges and universities. Due to the complexity and particularity of power supply environment, it is hard to put into practice in teaching. So that to boost students' experimental level and engineering design ability, a virtual simulation system of coal mine power supply is built on account of virtual reality technology. The system introduces Quadric Error Metrics algorithm for model simplification, and an improved folding cost is adopted to keep the details of the model. The system simulates the key technology of coal mine power supply teaching experiment, and realizes the functions of theory learning, scene roaming, equipment maintenance, knowledge examination and so on. The experiment can motivate students' hobby in studing, enrich the teaching experiment course, and has practical application value.
