Social Network Data Enabling Smart Tourism.

Smart Tourism is a concept that has been around for some years now, with its popularity being demonstrated by the explosion of published and online resources devoted to the subject. After conducting extensive research in the field of smart tourism, we focused our attention on the value of data collected from social media platforms within this sector. The purpose of this research is to illustrate, on the basis of the policies that are currently in place, which raw data can be mined from some of the most popular social media platforms as well as their importance in the context of smart tourism. We provide evidence in support of our claim regarding the significance of certain data, as well as methods for analyzing and exploiting such data, with the end goal of ultimately developing viable smart tourism user models.
