Magnetic Field Analysis of Conical Shape External Rotor Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Equivalent Magnetic Network Method

In this paper, the axial equivalent magnetic network model (EMN) considering the cone angle and axial displacement is established by the dynamic reluctance mesh (DRM) method for conical shape external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor (CSER-PMSM). Based on the EMN model, the no-load air gap flux density, back electromotive force (EMF), and electromagnetic torque are calculated. The results of the EMN model are compared with those of the three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA), which could verify the correctness of the proposed method. Finally, the back EMF curves of CSER-PMSM prototype under different coaxial displacement conditions are measured in the experiment, and could further prove the proposed magnetic network.
