Three-Dimensional Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation Scheme for Four-Leg Inverter with Switching Loss Distribution and Common-Mode Voltage Reduction

In this paper, we proposed a three-dimensional space vector pulse width modulation (3D SVPWM) switching method that enables to distribute the switching loss of each phase and mitigate the common-mode voltage (CMV) for four-leg inverter. To implement this switching scheme, the CMV noise of classical 3-D SVM for four-leg inverter was discussed. In addition, the conventional near-state 3-D SVM to reduce the CMV effects was analyzed in detail. Through this analysis process, the vectors of new combination were constructed that not only reduce the CMV effects, which are still an advantage of conventional method, but also distributes the switching loss of each phase due to the voltage imbalance according to the four-wire configuration. The detailed theoretical analysis and simulation of the above process were conducted. Also, experiment validation of the proposed scheme is underway.
