A Dual-Polarized K-Band Sliced-Notched Vivaldi Antenna Array

In this paper, a fully connected double polarized Vivaldi array is simulated to provide a double polarization K band solution from 20 to 40 GHz. To overcome the polarization issues over diagonal scan that are typical of Vivaldi’s array, a solution that has already been investigated in literature has been adapted to K band operation. With this modification, the array is able to provide a wide-scanning sector (up to 60°) with a Reflection Coefficient < -7 dB over both the E and H-plane for both the polarizations, assuring a polarization purity always greater than 8 dB. The analysis has been carried on both in unit-cell and in finite configuration.
