A Virtual Surgery System for Lung Biopsy

摘要
An advanced preoperative rehearsal system for lung puncture biopsy surgery is designed to address the issue of the high operator requirements and high risk of postoperative complications. The system enables the creation of three-dimensional model of both the lung and the puncture needle. It mechanically models the skin, fat and muscle of the chest wall to establish a virtual surgical rehearsal environment combined with force feedback technology. The realism and ease of operation of the system were validated based on analyzing various parameters from simulated lung puncture surgery performed by 20 volunteers. The results indicate that the system has high degree of effectiveness and clinical value that can serve as an auxiliary tool in lung puncture surgery.
