Markedly improved tensile property and corrosion resistance of ZTC4 titanium alloy by hot pressing
MATERIALS LETTERS(2024)
摘要
The effect of hot pressing (HP) holding time on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of ZTC4 titanium alloy were investigated. The results show that HP treatment could effectively heal pores and increase sample density. The highest ultimate tensile strength, yield tensile strength, elongation, and lowest corrosion current of the sample at room temperature are 790 MPa, 722 MPa, 16.8 %, and 0.29 mu A/cm2, respectively, when HP holding time is 1 h, which is markedly better than that of the ZTC4 sample (793 MPa, 688 MPa, 12.3 %, and 21.66 mu A/cm2), indicating the promise of utilizing low-cost HP technology for high-performance titanium alloys.
