High Open Circuit Voltage with Organic Hole Transport Layers in Group V Doped CdSeTe Solar Cells

Effective hole transport layer (HTL) is one of the key factors for the highly efficient cadmium selenium telluride (CdSeTe) solar cells. Here, we present the effect of different organic hole transport layers as HTL in CdSeTe solar cells, including Spiro-OMeTAD, PTAA, PEDOT: PSS, and P3CT. With all these HTLs, the device shows significantly improved open circuit voltages (V(OC)s). Especially, with P3CT, Spiro-OMeTAD, and PTAA as HTLs, the VOCs can reach a maximum of 866, 857, and 869 mV, respectively, which are greater than the control sample without any HTL.
