摘要
The concept of energy poverty has been discussed in recent years, being multidisciplinary, subjective and different according to the reality of each territory. In any case, to understand how to solve the problem and propose appropriate measures, it is necessary to evaluate the reality of each community. The adoption of solar photovoltaics in communities can help reduce energy poverty and ensure access to basic energy services, being aligned with ODS 7. Thus, to identify and characterize different consumers in low-income communities in Rio de Janeiro, a survey was conducted on 310 households in the communities of Babilonia and Chapeu mangueira. Aiming at the fair promotion of the benefits of clean and renewable energy, a renewable energy cooperative was created in the same locality. This paper aims to present the survey results and the main impacts obtained after a little over a year of the creation of the cooperative.
