•Indicators for net zero energy buildings with one-hour, one-day, one-week, one-month, and one-year resolution data.•Indicators analyzed cover many aspects: thermal indoor comfort, visual comfort, energy needs, solar production, self-sufficiency and load match.•Influence of the building design parameters on the energy performance metrics in the Mediterranean climate.•The proposed graphs provide a useful way to concentrate a large quantity of information and highlight the relevance of data science.•A Morris-based global sensitivity analysis approach was introduced to assess the influence of different design parameters on reaching the NZEB target.
