Novel resin-based material containing β-tricalcium phosphate nanoparticles for the reduction of dentin permeability

•Dental adhesive with β-TCP nanoparticles (10 wt% and 15 wt%) resisted erosive/abrasive challenges.•Resin-based dental material with 10 wt.% β-TCP promotes the best reduction in dentin permeability.•Dental adhesive with β-TCP nanoparticles (10 wt% and 15 wt%) showed a sustained effect on dentin permeability.•Higher β-TCP nanoparticles content (15 wt.%) reduced dental pulp cells viability.
