Advancing Innovation in Photonic Technologies at a Brazilian Research and Development Center

Photonics plays a crucial role in advancing various technologies, especially in supporting future optical communication networks. This paper presents some of the challenges and developments being carried out in Brazil, specifically at CPQD, a Brazilian research and development center in telecommunications. We present CPQD's capabilities in integrated photonics, highlight results from projects in the field, and discuss the Sisfoton initiative, emphasizing the importance of funding and collaborations to foster innovations in the field.
