Security Enhanced Encryption on Color Modulation of Visible Light Communication Systems

Visible Light Communication (VLC) is an emerging technology that harnesses the visible light spectrum within the field of optical wireless communication (OWC). It aims to deliver high-speed data transfer rates, enhanced security, and improved energy efficiency in access networks. However, the physical layer of VLC systems is vulnerable to eavesdroppers, making it crucial to implement secure transmission techniques. This study explores a VLC system that enhances privacy levels in wireless optical communication systems through two techniques: a color modulation scheme and a hyperchaotic three-dimensional map. Through successful error-free testing at a wireless link distance of 1 meter and a symbol transmission rate of 2 Baud, this solution has demonstrated its potential for secure information communication for smartphone users.
