Arterial Spin Labeling Perfusion Imaging

During the past 30 years, ASL has evolved from a novel idea for noninvasive blood flow measurement to a robust, versatile technique usable both in clinical routine and basic research. The promise of a quantitative, repeatable technique allowing the noninvasive study of human physiology in normal and diseased conditions has triggered extensive research activity both in improved methods and in medical applications as seen in this brief and non -exhaustive review of ASL possibilities.
