摘要
Resistance-type superconducting fault current limiter (R-SFCL) has gained significant attention due to its simple structure and effective current limiting capabilities, making it highly promising for various applications in power systems. However, one drawback of R-SFCL is the difficulty in achieving rapid recovery after deep current limitations. To address this issue, this paper introduces and models a 10 kV variable impedance resistive superconducting fault current limiter (VI-SFCL). Additionally, a finite element electromagnetic thermal simulation is conducted to overcome the challenge of fast recovery. A 2D superconductor model is simulated using COMSOL in an experimental system with fault currents ranging from 2.5 to 25 kA. The obtained results demonstrate that VI-SFCL effectively reduces the recovery time of the superconducting tape and enhances the stability and reliability of the power system.
