Factors Associated with Ablation Related Thrombus Extension (ARTE) Following Microfoam Versus Radiofrequency Saphenous Vein Closure

•Type of Research: Single-center retrospective cohort study•Key Findings: Above-knee great saphenous vein closure with microfoam vein diameter greater than 10 mm may be associated with Ablation Related Thrombus Extension (ARTE) following microfoam and radiofrequency closure of 246 limbs in 211 patients.•Take Home Message: Post-procedure duplex ultrasound should be performed routinely following microfoam ablation of the above-knee great saphenous vein and ARTE patients anticoagulated until the thrombus resolves.
