Abstract

•Four cyclo-pentazolate salts [NHn(CH3)4-n]+N5− (n = 0∼3) were synthesized and fully characterized.•Hydrogen bond, cationic-π and π-π interactions affect the stability of the cyclo-N5−.•These salts all show low sensitivities (IS ≥ 35 J, FS > 360 N).
