摘要
One source of information on aviation accidents and aviation turbulence comes from the NTSB report. However, this report is only used for the country itself. The purpose of this study was to identify the distribution of aviation turbulence in Asia from the NTSB report and Himawari 8. Temporal distribution, spatial distribution, and Spatial Temperature Difference (STD) analysis were used in this study. Based on reports from the NTSB there were a total of 24 aviation turbulence events from 2011-2020. Most of the turbulence occurs above the ground, in the descending phase, dominantly impacting aircraft with wide bodies and minor injuries. Whereas using the Himawari 8 weather satellite, from the turbulence events where 13 satellite data are available, 5 events (38%) occur outside the clouds, and based on the STD value, countries in the tropics have higher STD values than subtropical regions both in the scene of the incident or outside the location of the incident.
