Preferences of Luminous Environment of Day and Night Shift Workers in the Enclosed Space with Different Sizes

Light environment is very important for enclosed spaces without natural light. This study aims to explore the preferences of workers for luminous environment in different enclosed spaces during different schedules. Two enclosed spaces of different sizes were constructed as experiment scenes, 6 light conditions with illuminance (200lx and 300lx) and CCT (3000K, 4500K and 5500K) were compared. Eight healthy males were recruited and experienced all light conditions during day and night schedule. D2 test, VAS-F scale and VSD scale were used to measure work performance, fatigue and visual perception, respectively. The results shown that participates have higher preference and coziness for big space. Compared with day schedule, the work performance of worker is worse at night according to the less uncompleted number and higher fatigue level. High illuminance (300lx) can decrease uncompleted number and relieve fatigue. Although participates felt livelier atmosphere under 300lx and 5500K, they had a preference for 3000K.
