Spin-reorientation and exchange bias in perovskite YbCr0.5Fe0.5O3

Magnetic properties of single-phase perovskite YbCr0.5Fe0.5O3 are investigated in this manuscript. The singlephase perovskite YbCr0.5Fe0.5O3 exhibits spin reorientation between 25 and 50 K and exchange bias phenomenon between 50 K and Ne ' el temperature (TN). It is proposed that the exchange bias effect mechanism in singlephase perovskite YbFe0.5Cr0.5O3 compound is due to the ferromagnetic (FM) coupling between the Yb3+ and Fe3+/Cr3+. The Yb3+ has a tendency to rotate with the external field during the demagnetization of the hysteresis loop, and the FM coupling between the Yb3+ and Fe3+/Cr3+ has a pinning effect on it, hindering its rotation. Thus, the exchange bias phenomenon occurs. According to exchange bias field of the training effect in singlephase perovskite YbFe0.5Cr0.5O3 compound, the exchange bias field can maintain a stable state after several field cycles.
