Functionalization of cotton nonwoven with cyclodextrin/lawsone inclusion complex nanofibrous coating for antibacterial wound dressing

•Lawsone/cyclodextrin inclusion complex nanofibers were prepared for wound dressing.•Different molar ratios of lawsone were used to develop the fibers.•The results showed HP-β-CD can lead to a higher increase in lawsone solubility.•The fibers coated on cotton showed complete encapsulation of lawsone.•The nanofibrous coating showed suitable antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
