B2O3-Sb2O3-LiF glass anode with long-cycle stability

Glass anodes have received much concern due to their open network structure and ability to provide permeation channels for lithium -ions. However, there is still relatively little exploration of the electrochemical performance of F -ions -regulated glass network structure. In this work, fluoroborate glass with a loose network structure was prepared by the conventional melt -quenching method. This glass anodes (LF) induced the formation of Sb3+Sb5+O4 crystals through charge/discharge cycling, and the presence of the crystals enhanced the specific surface area and embedded lithium sites. After 900 cycles, the specific discharge capacity of the LF glass anode is maintained at 371.4 mAh g-1, and the introduction of F -ions effectively improves the cycling stability and cycle life of the anode in the B2O3-Sb2O3 glass system. This advances a new idea for the future research and development of glass anodes.
