Abstract
This article investigates the event-based sensor fault interval estimation and PI controller design for aircraft engines. First, an event-based sensor fault estimation observer (FEO) is constructed to estimate the sensor fault subject to amplitude-bounded disturbance and measurement noise. Then, a codesigned scheme of event-triggered parameters and PI fault-tolerant controller is proposed to save communication resources and guarantee the required performance of the considered system. Furthermore, the estimated information of fault interval is derived via ellipsoid bundles based on the designed FEO. Ultimately, the proposed method is verified by hardware-in-the-loop experiment, which reflects its potential application in propulsion system.
