Research on Influence and Capacity Configuration Optimization Method of Energy Storage on Power Angle Stability of Large Power Grids

Energy storage is an important means to solve the contradiction between supply and demand caused by the high proportion of renewable energy in the new type power system. The wide application makes it possible for energy storage to participate in the safety and stability control of power system. From the perspective of improving the power angle stability of the system, this paper takes typical large-scale power grids as the research object, and puts forward practical methods of capacity configuration optimization for energy storage. Firstly, the mechanism of energy storage to improve power system power angle stability is analyzed. Then, according to the different power angle stability requirements of different power grids, the applicable control strategies and technical requirements of energy storage are sorted out and verified by simulation. Finally, based on the mechanism studies and combined with simulation analysis, the capacity configuration methods of energy storage to improve the power angle stability for different typical scenarios are proposed.
