An Improved Jonscher Model for Broadband Dielectric Characterization of Cement Composites

Here we propose an improved Jonscher model for the characterization of complex permittivity of the ultra-lightweight cement composite (ULCC). The conventional Jonscher model has inherent disadvantages in its upper frequency limit, particularly, the minimum loss factor cannot be located from its imaginary-part $\left( {\varepsilon _{\text{r}}^{''}} \right)$ model. The proposed model has fixed this problem and can handle a broadband frequency range from 100 MHz to 20 GHz for different cement-based composites. Cross validations are given for both the models using published data and new ULCC data to certify the effectiveness of the new model.
