A Novel Broadband Differential Feed Metasurface Antenna Based On SIW

Although the advantages of traditional differential dual-polarized SIW antenna are high cross polarization and strong gain, its bandwidth is not wide at high frequencies. In this paper, a novel broadband differential fed metasurface antenna based on SIW is proposed. A metasurface is introduced to the original structure to enhance multiple resonances and improve the bandwidth. The feed structure in this study is designed to achieve simulation bandwidth and directional patterns for the antenna. Simulation results demonstrate that the antenna has a bandwidth of 15.8 ~ 20.4 GHz, has high cross-polarization discrimination, and the maximum gain is 13 dBi. The designed antenna can be used in geostationary orbit satellites to transmit a fixed beam to an area with a high number of users and devices.
