Enhanced Heterogeneous Electro-Fenton Process for Degradation of Rhodamine B: FeOCl/CF@AB Composite Cathode with Superior Efficiency and Sustainability

The FeOCl/CF@AB composite presents an intriguing mechanism for enhanced RhB degradation. The encapsulation of FeOCl within AB facilitates efficient electron transfer, leading to the spontaneous activation of O2 and subsequent H2O2 generation. This electron penetration effect enables the FeOCl/CF@AB composite to exhibit superior catalytic performance in RhB degradation compared to the raw CF electrode. The proposed electro-Fenton mechanism involves the oxidation of RhB to intermediates and eventual mineralization to CO2 and H2O. This novel approach holds great promise for sustainable and environmentally friendly wastewater treatment, showcasing the potential of FeOCl/CF@AB as a green catalyst with industrial applications.
