摘要
The magnitude of environmental problems caused by industrial progress is significant and cannot be ignored. Nanotechnology has made significant strides toward improving environmental protection. It is crucial to have reliable and eco-friendly approaches to creating nanoparticles in order to make progress in the field of nanotechnology. Our study successfully demonstrated a practical and environmentally friendly method for producing cobalt oxide nanoparticles using Morus alba leaves extract (MACo NPs). MACo NPs were produced by the reaction of 0.4 molar cobalt chloride with 40ml of extract (Morus alba leaves extract) solution at 60 °C for four hours. Different types of techniques, such as FTIR, XRD, SEM, and EDX, were used to examine the produced NPs. The effect of temperature, plant extract ratio, reaction duration, and salt ratio on the production of nanoparticles was monitored using UV–visible absorption spectrometry. The synthesized particles were around 24 nm in size and had a poly-shaped morphology. The Co NPs were thoroughly investigated and tested for antibacterial activity and catalytic degradation applications. The NPs exhibited excellent catalytic, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Finally, MACo NPs' ability to degrade nitrophenols and disinfect pathogens provides a cost-effective and environmentally benign strategy for countering new and emerging pollutants.
