Laboratory evaluation of heavy metal removal from stormwater runoff by pervious concrete pavement containing seashell and oil palm kernel shell

•Seashell and Palm oil kernel shell were added to the Pervious concrete.•The rate of heavy metal removal of those pervious concretes are discussed.•The range of heavy metal removal for mixture containing seashell was higher than that of control mixture.•The rate of heavy metal removal for mixture incorporating kernel shell was lower than that of control mixture.•The waste materials can be used as one of the cost-effective runoff purification methods.
