摘要
Due to decarbonization targets and policies and closer collaboration of different energy sectors, wind farm owners (WFOs) have the possibility of contributing more to the energy sector. However, uncertainty is an inseparable part of wind power, thus, the WFO needs to deal with this challenge. Balancing electricity market is a place to partly decrease the deviation in generation. Also, currently, green hydrogen is another alternative to assist wind farms. However, turning wind power into green hydrogen via electrolyzers produces heat that can be reutilized. This work focuses on the electrolyzer’s byproduct heat capture and usage (HCU). The impact of HCU on the economic and technical performance of the WFO is investigated via operation-planning studies. The results show that the profit of the WFO increased considerably with the improvement in the HCU rate. Moreover, the deviation of wind power is noticeably compensated with higher electrolyzer’s byproduct HCU rate.
