Ice Adhesive Strength on the Surfaces With Shallow Groove Structures
2023 17th Symposium on Piezoelectricity, Acoustic Waves, and Device Applications (SPAWDA)(2023)
摘要
Icing is an inevitable problem for most aircraft and has caused many accidents since decades ago. Many de-icing countermeasures have been prompt, such as electric heating, plasma synthetic jet, vibration, and so on. A combination of surface characteristics and piezoelectric vibration de-icing has been paid a lot of attention for its energy-saving capability. However, a more precise power release is always desired, which requires a more accurate estimate of ice adhesive strength. Hence, we conducted our investigations on the ice adhesive strength regarding surfaces with shallow grooves. We validated that a decrease in freezing temperature leads to an increase in ice adhesion. The reason could be a decrease in grain size. The patterns of how shallow grooves affect the ice adhesion correlates well with one of our earlier studies and suit the semi-empirical estimation well if adequate equalization was made.
