Off-the-Shelf Low-Cost Wireless Communication Structure Applied to Microgrids Power Converters

摘要
This article presents a cost-effective and low-complexity solution for collecting data to implement a mon-itoring, supervisory and high-level control system for power electronics devices in a small-scale academic workbench environment. It transforms the stand-alone power converter into an intelligent electronic device (IED), enabling advanced capabilities such as remote operation and data logging. Utilizing readily available development kit modules, data transmission up to 3 Mbps between the DSP and the server is achieved. A setup employing a dc microgrid implemented and validation with experimental results are presented.
