Energy Consumption Constrained Resource Cell Optimization Based on Multipoint Channel Charting.

With the increasing demand for mobile users for high-speed data transmission services, the problem of energy consumption of mobile communication systems is becoming increasingly prominent. Resource cell coverage structure has been proposed to match the service distribution and improve energy efficiency (EE) of sixth generation (6G) mobile networks. Unlike traditional EE maximization under signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) or rate constraints, we maximize the system capacity under energy consumption constraints. Relying on the above coverage structure, this paper proposes a multipoint channel charting (MPCC)-based resource cell generation (RCG) method to improve system capacity under transmit power constraint. Specifically, we divide adjacent users on MPCC into the same resource cell to reduce the system interference and improve the capacity, by allocating orthogonal resource blocks (RBs) within the resource cell and multiplexing RBs between resource cells, respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed method provides significant gain in capacity while being resilient to inaccurate information on the wireless channels, without accessing location information from global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs).
