Synthesis and crystal structure of the new copper(II) coordination polymer with N1-(2-arboxyphenyl)-N2-(4-ethylcarboxyphenyl)oxalamide ligand

A new copper (II) 1D coordination polymer (CP) of composition [9Cu center dot 6L center dot 4DMSO center dot 3H2O]n has been prepared with use of N1-(2-carboxyphenyl)-N2-(4-ethylcarboxyphenyl)oxalamide as H3L ligand. The synthesis of the CP is based on a binuclear complex [Cu(H2L)2 center dot H2O]2. A number of the [Cu(H2L)2 center dot H2O]2 complexes were obtained as a result of exchange reaction between N1-(2-carboxyphenyl)-N2-(aryl)oxalamide triethylammonium salts (HEt3N+center dot(H2L)-) and CuCl2 center dot 2H2O in an aqueous medium.
