Study on the Safety Requirements of EV High-power DC Charging with Multiple-charging Interfaces

With the scale development of the electric vehicle industry and the rising demand for high-powered fast charging, electric vehicle charging faces a series of safety challenges. Aiming at the safety issues such as inrush current and contactor welding, etc. during the operation of high-power DC charging using dual (multi)-charging interfaces, the article first analyses the existing working modes and design points of high-power DC electric vehicle charging equipment (EVSEs) and vehicles using dual (multi) charging interfaces, gives the possible safety issues under different working modes in combination with application scenarios, then takes a field dual-charging interfaces charging system as an example to design test cases. The results have been adopted and written into industry safety risk tips, and also provide reference for the development and revision of national standards.
