摘要
In the new concept design of the circular electron positron collider detector, the magnet should be an ultrathin HTS solenoid with maximum radiation transparency. A novel aluminum-stabilized stacked REBCO tape cable (ASTC) was proposed and developed. The advantages of aluminum's high residual resistivity ratio, high thermal conductivity, and high transparency for particles, combined with the advantages of REBCO tape's high engineering current density, high strength and large temperature margin, constitute a suitable cable option for future detector magnets. The ASTC uses REBCO tapes in a stacked structure, which are wrapped and bound with metal tapes, and then covered with aluminum stabilizer by coextrusion processing. By optimizing the process parameters, such as preheating temperature, extrusion speed, Al outer layer thickness, and improving the internal structure of the cable, the critical current of the ASTC prototype cable is increased to 905 A@ 77 K, self-field. The degradation of the tape is less than 20%. This article presents the development process of the ASTC cable, discusses the challenges encountered during cable processing, and proposes corresponding solutions.
