摘要
Accurate measurement of thickness holds significant importance during the fabrication of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets using HTS wires. Despite its growing significance, a continuous measurement device for tracking HTS wire thickness remains elusive. When employing superconducting wire in applications like HTS magnets for generating high magnetic fields, it becomes crucial to precisely gauge the wire's thickness beforehand. This preemptive measurement minimizes deviations between the magnet's intended design specifications and the actual manufacturing process. Furthermore, HTS wires often exhibit non-uniform thickness not only along their length but also across their width, highlighting the need for a comprehensive solution. Hence, the imperative arises to devise a continuous measurement tool capable of accurately determining both thickness and shape for long-lengths of HTS wires. In this study, we propose a novel approach: a technology for measuring HTS wire thickness. This proposal utilizes a reel-toreel transfer device in tandem with a confocal laser sensor to achieve continuous, precise measurement and transfer of lengthy HTS wires.
