Engineering metal-organic framework (MOF)@MXene hybrid composites as capable supercapacitor electrodes is one of the most prevalent research hotspots in the contemporary energy conservation stage. Electrochemical performances of MOF@MXene electrodes are greatly dependent on their structural property, mainly deriving from the MOF characters, synthesis routes and the structural morphology of the resultant composites. In this review, a comprehensive summarization of MOF@MXene-based hybridized electrodes is described from two aspects: morphology regulation and electrochemical evaluation. Metal ions and organic ligands tuning the structural properties of MOF, and different synthesis concepts for boosting the coordination bond and/or facilitating the framework effect of MOF on the MXene distribution have been concluded. A systematic summarization, comparison and prospection about the fate of MOF@MXene hybridized electrodes is achieved, including MOF varying in metal ions and organic ligands, preparation protocols, evaluation strategies and electrochemical performances, as well as multi-application prospects of MOF@MXene-based electrodes. Furthermore, the limitations, differences and new blueprints for the development of MOF@MXene composites are discussed.
