A Strategy for Self-Organizing Localization of Minimalist Robots

Because of small size and low cost, the minimalist robot has a high limitation in function, however, it is very suitable for the research of swarm robotics. In the process of using minimalist robots, due to the limited communication and lack of sense of direction, it is challenging for these minimalist robots to transform from global auxiliary positioning to distributed autonomous positioning. In this paper, we propose a new autonomous localization strategy for minimalist robots. This strategy includes determining the center of swarm robotics and building the relative coordinate system. Especially, without external information, the robots establish the system through the exchange of the local information, which enhance the recognition of direction for every minimalist robot. Finally, the effectiveness of the strategy is verified on the simulation platform.
