Revascularization of clinically significant left main coronary artery disease has traditionally belonged to the domain of cardiac surgery. Over the past decade, several randomized trials have compared coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and while some have generated controversy, meta-analyses have reported no difference in survival out to 10 years between the two modalities.1 The majority of PCI procedures performed on the left main artery involve the bifurcation.
