Convolutional Neural Networks: An Introduction

Abstract Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have made revolutionary strides in the field of computer vision. This article provides an overview of CNNs, starting with their fundamental components, including convolutional and pooling layers. This article also discusses the techniques used in their training and reviews popular variants of CNNs such as AlexNet, VGG, and ResNet. Finally, this article presents experimental results that thoroughly compare various CNN models, demonstrating their performance in terms of accuracy, as well as the training and testing time.
