Tuning Experiment of PID Parameter of Mechatronic System Based on Joint Simulation Using ADAMS and Simulink

As an important course in mechanical engineering, it is necessary to carry out classroom lectures, experiments, and simulations in the form of large-scale homework based on scientific research projects in the course’ Fundamental Control of Mechatronic Systems’. In this paper, a typical ADAMS model of the mechanical system has been established, and through the joint simulation with Simulink, the tuning of PID control parameters has been carried out. Then the intrinsic correlation between PID control and mechanical parameters has been revealed, and the intrinsic relationship between the nature of PID control methods and each parameter has been reflected. The simulation content is teaching, scientific, inspiring, innovative, and practical. It can inspire students’ interest in the subject, deepen the understanding of the controller design teaching content, and enable students to design experimental content independently on this basis. Besides, it shows more practical for the equipment and site restrictions.
