Kin_proxy - an AR Dance Performance for Ethical Discourse

We introduce details of the Augmented Reality (AR) series kin_at presenting the AR dance piece proxy (2022/2023) following and building on the initial AR dance performance kin_ (2021). The paper aims to open the question on how Mixed Reality (MR) as a superset of AR can unleash new potential for the arts and other domains and trigger new perceptual experiences using artistic research at the intersection of art, dance, and technology. We argue that these new potentials are to be found in different kinds of perception of the dancing bodies involved, in staged agency and in a mesh of interactions, which are highlighted along the dance piece presented and accompanied by extended research on ethical questions.
