Development and application of high strength gears

High-strength gears are crucial components in high-end industrial equipment, such as deep-sea submarines, aircraft engines, aerospace vehicles, nuclear power plants, special vehicles, high-speed trains, and high-end machine tools. As these equipment representatives continue to develop towards deeper, higher, faster, and safer directions, the load carrying capacity and service life requirements for gears become increasingly demanding. This study analyzes the service environment and technical challenges of high-strength gears by researching the current state of relevant research. It summarizes the main problems in the design, processing, and performance evaluation of high-strength gears, as well as the technical challenges in transmission design, materials and manufacturing, and design and manufacturing integration. The technical difficulties in design, manufacturing, design-manufacturing integration are analyzed, and the development direction of high-strength gears is emphasized. The research progress in anti-fatigue design, manufacturing, and service performance evaluation of high-strength gears is also elaborated, along with typical applications in the fields of aircraft engines, wind power generation, and engineering machinery. The goal is to promote the advancement of high-strength gear technology and its applications.
