Study on the Effect of Nano-Lubrication on the Surface Quality of Corrugated Rolled Aluminum Alloy Sheets

Aiming at the corrugated rolling process, the effect of nano-lubrication on the surface quality of corrugated rolled aluminum alloy sheets was studied experimentally. Under the conditions of room temperature, rolling speed of 0.1 m/s, and reduction of 40%, the corrugated rolling experiments of 1060 aluminum alloy sheets with the dimensions of 200 mm×60 mm×3 mm were carried out without lubrication and with nano-lubrication. The surface morphology and surface quality of the peaks and troughs of rolled aluminum alloy sheets were analyzed. The results show that the peaks and troughs of aluminum alloy sheets under nano-lubrication are smoother and the defects are less. The surface roughness values of the whole and local areas of peaks are reduced by 25% and 24%, respectively, and surface roughness values of the whole and local areas of troughs are reduced by 22% and 24%, respectively, compared with those without lubrication. Nanoparticles modify the surface of the aluminum alloy sheets during corrugated rolling process, and play a role in cutting and filling. The surface quality of the sheets is improved significantly. The research results can provide theoretical reference for formulating the rolling process of aluminum alloy sheets with good surface quality.
